Let us take this opportunity to tell you what you will find upon stepping through the door of Louise Vurpas’ studio at number 5 Rue Chavanne in the 1st arrondissement, in the Saint-Nizier district, between the Place des Terreaux and the Place des Jacobins.
Before discussing Fine Jewelry, you should know that 5 Rue Chavanne was once more focused on fine (or even naughty) lingerie, with the well-known Vénus! Having remained closed for several years, this space has benefited from a beautiful renovation, highlighting its majestic Saint-Cyr stone walls and vaulted ceilings.
Louise Vurpas has kept a taste for discretion from the former shop!
Indeed, it is often in the greatest secrecy that unique, custom-made pieces are created: engagement rings and other jewelry for big, beautiful occasions.
Also, don't think that if our door is closed, it means we are closed. For security, the door only opens from the inside. Please don't hesitate to ring, especially since Louise might be upstairs, busy crafting a piece of jewelry.
Once inside, you will discover a beautiful setting (of course!) dedicated to jewelry design, artisanal manufacturing, and other more exclusive pieces from fine jewelry making.
At the studio, there is no carpet, but a beautiful dark green terrazzo; no large leather or velvet armchairs that staff would pull out for you to sit in, but cool colorful stools sourced from the Canal flea market; no champagne, but coffee—all garnished with a beautiful bouquet of flowers coming straight from the designer's parents' garden!
You will have understood our philosophy. We like the raw, the beautiful, the useful, the efficient!
So, please be kind and understanding regarding the cleanliness and tidiness of the workshop area, because here, we work, we brush, we sculpt, we shape, we cut, we drill, we heat...
In short, a studio is alive, it gets dirty and cluttered, so that it can be better cleaned and organized!
